— How can we sail to an island that nobody can find — with a compass that doesn't work?

— Mr Gibbs, we have a need to travel upriver.
— By need, do you mean a trifling need? Fleeting? As in, say, a passing fancy?
— No, a resolute and unyielding need.

— Close haul her. Luff the sails and lay her in iron.

— Jack, I have to ask... You had the chalices, the water, the tear... You could have lived maybe forever.
— The Fountain does test you, Gibbs. But better to not know which moment may be your last. Every morsel of your entire being... alive to the infinite mystery of it all. — From what I hear tell of Captain Barbossa, he's not a man to suffer fools, nor strike a bargain with one.
— Then I'd say it's a good thing I'm not a fool.
