[Bianca is in the hallway of the school begging Catherine to go to the Fall Fling. But Catherine refuses because she has no one to go with. Suddenly Bianca notices Patrick and runs to him.]
— Patrick? Please take my sister to Fall Fling!
— Excuse her. She was dropped on her head as an infant. Now she has these episodes...
[Catherine pulls Bianca away from Patrick, but she breaks free and runs up to him again.]
— Look, deep, deep down beneath my sister's crusty exoskeleton, she has a soft spot for you.
— I'm going to kill you in your sleep.
— ... My father is a freak who won't let me date until she does, so will you please take her to the dance? You can consider it a charitable contribution to the Free Bianca Stratford Foundation.
[Catherine turns her back on Bianca and Patrick, about to leave.]
— Okay, I'll do it. I'll take her to that dance... I'd like to see how you look in a dress. I'll pick you up at seven.
[Patrick leaves.]
— We both have dates to the dance!

Patrick salutes the headmistress and leaves the school. The headmistress is about to search Patrick's backpack, but Catherine snatches it out.
— You have no right to go through this.
Catherine follows Patrick to the exit.
— Kat, come back here with that, or you're suspended, too.
— Then I guess I'm suspended.
Catherine goes outside and approaches Patrick, who has already got on his motorcycle. She hands him the backpack.
— This is yours.
Patrick takes his backpack and smiles broadly at Kat.
— You sure about this?
— No. But I'm doing this.
Catherine gets on her motorcycle and hugs Patrick.
— "Hold my hair".
— Excuse me?
— That's what you said to me at your party right before you hurled.
— Nice.

— What's this stupid thing you want to ask me?
— Okay. You know how my dad is insane.
— He made me watch a slide show of some chick giving birth, so yeah.
— Now he wants you to come to dinner.
— I'll pass.
