— You're my shrink? Well, lucky me. — And you're my paranoid schizophrenic with narcissistic personality disorder and religious psychosis. Lucky me. Copy quote Share Report a mistake 1 comment Supernatural Season 5 Episode 11 Dean WinchesterpsychologistIronic Quotes
I am a psychiatrist. I have been for 27 years. I'm completely worn out. Year after year, listening to patients who aren't satisfied with their lives, who want to have fun, who want me to help them with that. It wears you out, I can tell you. My life isn't exactly a lot of fun either. People demand so much. That's the conclusion I've drawn after all these years. They demand to be happy, at the same time as they are egocentric, selfish and ungenerous. Well, I would like to be honest. I would like to say that they are quite simply mean, most of them. Spending hour after hour in therapy, trying to make a mean person happy. There's no point. You can't do it. I've stopped doing it. These days, I just prescribe pills. The stronger the better.Show full quote Copy quote Share Report a mistake 5 comments Du levandeThe psychiatrist
I mean, psychiatry: it's the latest religion. We decide what's right and wrong. We decide who's crazy or not. I'm in trouble here. I'm losing my faith. Copy quote Share Report a mistake Twelve MonkeysKatharine Reilly

My name is Don Octavio Del Flores. I am the world's greatest psychiatrist. I have cured over a thousand patients. Their faces linger in my memory like summer days. But none more so than Don Juan DeMarco. Copy quote Share Report a mistake 5 comments Don Juan DeMarcoDr. Jack MicklerHuman, People
Initial diagnostic session with Jay Roth. Mr. Roth complains of a recent acute acrophobia. He is middle-aged, physically healthy, and had no previous psychiatric problems. He has no living relatives, but many friends from whom he seeks support. He has correct speech, good posture. In the waiting room I sat quietly, not trying to occupy myself with something. But I noticed that he whistles perfectly. He knows how to present himself, but there are signs of an oppressed narcissist. He says that he easily copes with conflicts and troubles, but... I'm not sure if this is true. In general, a lot of what he wanted to convince me of does not coincide with what my intuition says. Although I can’t point out exactly how this is characterized from a clinical point of view. I sense something dark and deceiving in his emotions. However, it is clear that he does have a phobia. We will find out later whether it is a fear of heights or something else. Interesting case. Looking forward to our next session.Show full quote Copy quote Share Report a mistake The Mentalist Season 6 Episode 2 Sophie MillerPsychology, PsychologistsSad Quotes
