Memory gives moments immortality, but forgetfulness promotes a healthy mind. It's good to forget.

Hannibal: I think about God.
Will: Good and evil?
Hannibal: Good and evil has nothing to do with God.

Will: I discovered a truth about myself when I tried to have you killed.
Hannibal: That doing bad things to bad people makes you feel good?
Will: Yes.

Many troublesome behaviors strike when you are uncertain of yourself.

Hannibal: Mason is discourteous. And discourtesy is unspeakably ugly to me.
Will: Are you thinking about eating him?
Hannibal: Whenever feasible, one should always try to eat the rude.
