Family heirlooms are... very important. They remind us where we come from, and that no matter where we go, our family is with us.

— I can't believe Hope did this.
— Oh, no, she's, uh, right on schedule. My teenage temper tantrums involved birds falling out of the sky and entire villages burning, so... family tradition.

— You aren't just anyone, Hope. You're a firstborn Mikaelson witch. With a terrifying amount of power, even without the darkness that your family is keeping you away from.
— So, what? I'm so sensitive, everyone's afraid I'm just gonna flip out?
— Well, when people like you and me flip out, entire villages can burn.

I know what it's like to have your family thrust you into a situation where the world is on your shoulders and you're not at all sure if you have the strength to carry it.

You can't shut down, or it'll eat you up inside.

She's in her room, searching for a spell that doesn't exist to fix a problem that can't be solved.

She deserves the rest. You should be proud of her. Your 15-year-old just saved an entire city, and no one will know to thank her for it.

I'm a Mikaelson, so I'll take any opportunity for a good dramatic entrance.

Elijah described it to me once. In his... oh-so-poetic way. He said... at first, there's nothing. But then... you slowly start to realize that there's nothing. That's your consciousness reigniting. Then, the light will trickle in. You'll open your eyes, and... you'll be back in this room. But the colors will be different. The sounds will be fuller.
